LESSON PROGRAMME
Being around horses and learning to ride is a magical experience, for all ages. Our safe, sound riding horses and ponies are here to help you learn, not only riding skills, but also how to build a wonderful relationship based on trust and respect.
We pride ourselves in treating each of our students as individuals. We respect the fact that everyone learns at a different pace, has their own objectives and goals and this is what makes Pegasus quite unique.
Our group lessons take a maximum of four students of compatible riding skills and each lesson is tailored to the needs and abilities of that group. Lessons follow a structured lesson plan that balances instruction with practice time and encourages maximum student participation.
Students are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their lesson time to enable them to groom and tack up their mount. Likewise, at the end of the lesson, students are encouraged to participate in taking care of their horse’s needs, including feeding and turning out. Our horses and ponies are never used for back-to-back lessons.
LESSON FEES
Group Lesson (1 hour) - $30.00 + HST
Private (40 minutes) - $45.00 + HST
Students are welcome to bring their own horse for lessons, tailor made to their needs. Please enquire for details.
To comply with the Horse Riding Safety Act of Ontario - Bill 12, hard helmets that meet current standards (ASTM or BSI) and hard soled footwear (heel no less than 1.5cm) must be worn. Helmets are available for loan to new students. |
NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP
Here at Pegasus, we love natural horsemanship.
All our students (and some boarders) are taught natural horsemanship techniques, based on the Parelli system.
We are fortunate to have hosted several clinics and teaching sessions with Ron Pyne, 3 star Parelli Instructor.
We hope to include further Parelli Clinics in our 2010 program of events. |
